Tyler continued to perform throughout the 1990s and early 2000s at iconic venues such as San Francisco’s Masonic Theatre and New York’s Carnegie Hall. These were often solo performances with musical accompaniment and featured a repertoire of songs she had sung throughout her career including spirituals by Margaret Bonds and numerous arias from Bach, Handel, Mozart, and Puccini.

Below is a recording of Veronica Tyler performing at an alumni reunion during the last concert of the tenth season of the Young People's Concerts.

Veronica Tyler was a trailblazer who created spaces where people of color, particularly Black musicians, could succeed. Tyler used her experience to help new musicians on their journey. She was also a beloved mother and grandmother, one who sang at her grandchildren's graduations and who is remembered by her granddaughter for always singing He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands around the house. She remains a beloved icon in her home city of Baltimore, Maryland, which celebrated her with her very own Veronica Tyler Day. Veronica Tyler’s legacy has reached those around the world, from Italy to Russia to her home in Baltimore, Maryland, and will continue to inspire generations of performers.
